We recently held a Beat Surgery at Otterbourne Recreation Ground and it is hoped that we will hold regular Beat Surgeries in the West, to enable parishioners to meet with their local officers, to share any policing matters or concerns and receive crime prevention advice. We appreciate that in recent times, it has been difficult to speak directly with the Police and we would like to make this a little easier for you, by arranging set date and times where you know where we’ll be. This is particularly important for the more vulnerable who perhaps don’t use social media and may need our help.

Update from Hampshire Highways

As part of Operation Resilience, Hampshire County Council’s programme to make Hampshire’s roads more resilient to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic, we will be undertaking drainage improvement works on Otterbourne Hill, between Kiln Lane and Boyatt Lane, which are in preparation for carriageway resurfacing which will be carried out a later date.
 
The drainage works are programmed to start on Monday 20th September 2021 and will last for approximately four weeks. During this time temporary traffic lights will be in operation 24 hours a day, and these will be manually controlled at peak times to minimise congestion. Whilst there is an allowance within the time periods shown above for delays, there may be times when we have to postpone works at very short notice; based on the latest weather forecasts, this can occur just prior to works commencing. We will always look to provide up to date information wherever we can, but sometimes these last minute decisions can be difficult to relay to the travelling public in a timely manner. When we can, any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.
