We are a network of like-minded people concerned about climate change and wanting to take action locally in Otterbourne and Allbrook. We want to make positive changes in areas like biodiversity, transport, better-insulated housing and renewable energy within our Parishes. We first held a Climate Cafe at Otterbourne Village Hall in January 2024 and have met since to discuss what we can do. We would love to hear from other residents also concerned about the planet warming and wanting to get involved! Please email: [email protected] We are planning three events to which all local residents are welcome. These are: Otterbourne Festival Sunday 23th June 2024, 12 noon to 3 pm Oakwood Park Recreation Ground Come and say hello at our stand and find out more about OACS. Energy Training Champion Monday 9th September 2024, 7-9 pm Sports Pavilion, Oakwood Park Recreation Ground Are you interested in how you can make your home more energy efficient, and then perhaps advise others? Stuart Mills of Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC) will provide two hours of training on energy retrofit measures. This event is aimed at local residents willing to learn how to make homes more energy efficient and the most effective retrofit measures you can take. We hope to form a small team of energy experts who can speak to local people to advise them about what they can do to make their home energy efficient. We are aiming to recruit a group of 12. Future Energy Landscapes Workshop 5th October 2024, 10 am to 12 noon Otterbourne Village Hall Would you like to see more renewable energy in the Allbrook and Otterbourne areas, and perhaps a communal solar PV or wind facility? Energise South Downs Catriona Cockburn will lead a workshop exploring all the options and what we can do to move forward. Refreshments will be provided and as many residents as possible are wanted to come and express ideas and suggestions and to get involved. Comments are closed.
